The Legacy

A mill’s discipline.
A studio’s eye.

Shandar Enterprise began in 2011 with a simple, stubborn belief: a fabric house should be judged not by its best lot, but by its thousandth. From our design floor in Dadar — in the heart of Mumbai’s textile trade — we develop, weave and finish shirting cloth for labels that put their own name on the collar.

Every construction we sell starts as a drawing, not a purchase order. Our designers build dobby structures, blend counts and set shades in-house, then hold those specifications lot after lot, season after season. That is what lets a buyer reorder eighteen months later and receive the same cloth — not a close approximation.

  • In-house designOriginal dobby and structure development, not catalogue copies.
  • Shade-locked repeatsReference-matched dyeing so reorders land on tone.
  • Built for B2BProgramme quantities, roll-wise inspection, export-ready packing.

The Collection

Various fabric families

Each construction is developed on our own looms and held to a fixed specification — so what you approve on the swatch card is what arrives on the roll.

1

Cotton Dobby

Pure cotton woven on dobby looms to raise a self-textured motif into the cloth itself. Breathable, crisp to cut, and the workhorse of premium formal shirting.

  • 100% Cotton
  • Self-textured
  • Formal & Semi-formal
2

Lycra Dobby

The same dobby structure carried on an elastane-blended base. Two-way give, quick recovery and a soft sheen — built for slim-fit shirting that still moves.

  • Cotton + Elastane
  • Stretch & recovery
  • Slim-fit ready
3

Imported Plain

Fine-count plain weave sourced from selected international mills and finished to our own hand. Flat, even, quietly luxurious — the cloth for a label’s top line.

  • Fine count
  • Smooth matte hand
  • Premium tier
4

Linen Blended Fabric

Linen blended for strength and drape, with the slub character kept deliberately even. Cool against Indian summers and forgiving through repeated wash cycles.

  • Linen blend
  • Even slub
  • Resort & casual
5

Oxford

Classic basketweave with a white warp threading a coloured weft — the depth that makes an oxford read rich rather than flat. Sturdy, honest, endlessly reordered.

  • Basketweave
  • Two-tone depth
  • Everyday durability
6

Leno Dobby

Paired warp threads twisted around the weft to open tiny, stable perforations. Featherweight and genuinely breathable, without the fragility of a loose weave.

  • Twisted leno warp
  • Open & breathable
  • Lightweight summer

The Shade Card

Various signature shades

Our core shirting palette, held to reference across every lot. Filter the range to see each shade made up.

Shirt made in Shandar Enterprise white shirting fabric

White

The reference shade. Optical-clean and shade-locked, in cotton dobby, imported plain and leno.

Shirt made in Shandar Enterprise black shirting fabric

Black

Deep, non-fading black with the dobby structure still legible in raking light.

Shirt made in Shandar Enterprise wine shirting fabric

Wine

Our most-reordered festive shade — rich, controlled, and consistent season to season.

Shirt made in Shandar Enterprise natural shirting fabric

Natural

Undyed warmth that lets linen slub and dobby texture do the talking. A resort-wear staple.

Shirt made in Shandar Enterprise sky blue shirting fabric

Sky Blue

The corporate constant. At its best in oxford, where the white warp lifts the tone.

Shirt made in Shandar Enterprise peach shirting fabric

Peach

A warm, wearable summer tone — particularly clean on our linen-blended base.

Shades beyond the core card are matched to your reference on programme quantities.

How We Work

From drawing to dispatch

Three stages, one standard. Nothing leaves the floor that has not been measured against the specification it was sold on.

Design & Development

Structures are drawn in-house, sampled on the loom and signed off against a physical shade reference before a single production metre is committed.

Weaving & Finishing

Warp tension, pick density and finish are held to the approved card. The same recipe runs every repeat, which is why our reorders match.

Inspection & Dispatch

Roll-wise inspection on a backlit table, shade continuity checked across the lot, then packed and documented ready for domestic or export handling.

Why Shandar

What our buyers rely on

Shade Consistency

Reference-locked dyeing means an eighteen-month-old order comes back on tone, not close to it.

Original Design

Dobby structures developed on our own floor, so your range does not turn up on a competitor’s rack.

Manufacturer Direct

No layer of trading margin between the loom and your cutting table — and no broken telephone on specifications.

Dependable Dispatch

Confirmed dates that hold, and a call from us the moment anything threatens them.

Roll-wise QC

Every roll passes a backlit inspection table before it is packed. Defect claims are close to nil.

Export Ready

Packing, marking and documentation prepared to clear third-party inspection without a second round.

In Their Words

Trusted across the trade

Wholesalers, brands and exporters who have kept coming back — some of them for over a decade.

  • We have been buying shirting from Shandar for years, and the one thing I can count on is the repeat. A wine we ordered eighteen months ago came back this season in exactly the same shade — no lab dips going back and forth, no explanations needed. When you supply retail chains, that reliability is worth more than any discount.

  • Their design team genuinely understands what moves in the market. Every season they arrive with dobby structures we have not seen anywhere else — already thought through for shirting, not just a pretty swatch. The finish on their imported plains is properly premium, and our tailoring units tell us it cuts and stitches beautifully.

    Lalit DoshiSaremal’s
  • Service is where Shandar separates itself from the rest. Order confirmations come the same day, dispatch happens when they say it will, and if there is ever a delay we hear it from them first. In this trade that kind of straight communication is rare. Years of dealing and I have never had to chase a short delivery.

  • The linen blends are our best sellers, and that is entirely down to the quality of the base cloth. The hand-feel is soft, the slub is even across the width, and it holds colour through washing — our returns on their fabric are close to nil. Whatever quantity we ask for, big or small, we are treated exactly the same way.

  • Exporting means our cloth is inspected by buyers who do not forgive defects. Shandar’s oxfords and leno dobbys clear third-party inspection consistently, and their packing and documentation arrive export-ready without us having to ask twice. They have made our shipping cycle noticeably easier.
